Following a teasing concept bike at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este (Italian luxury vehicle show), and the subsequent wave of social media plaudits, Ducati has released their new Hypermotard 950 RVE.
A freshly styled mid-range Hypermotard 950
Adding to Ducati’s current fleet of Hypermotards, the 950 and 950 SP, the 950RVE will sit as the middle sibling in the 950 families.
Being an upgraded version of the 950, the RVE will feature a new graffiti-inspired graphic branding along with their up and down quick shifter, wheelie control and cornering ABS with slide brake function.

More than just a paint job
Ducati says that with the new graffiti livery, they wanted to bring to life the same finish and feel you’d get from a high-quality airbrush paint job.
To do this, Ducati employed professional paint experts to help design and make the concept come to life.
By combining thin-layer decals with an extensive painting process, Ducati managed to produce a product that would rival custom painted bodywork finishes.
The 950RVE is the full package
Upgrading from the base Hypermotard 950, Ducati added features from the top-level SP version. The RVE comes packed with Bosch Cornering ABS (with a Slide by Brake function), Ducati Traction Control Evo (DTC EVO) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO.
All this bolted to the Hypermotard’s twin-cylinder 937 cc Testastretta engine, packing a cool 114hp. Plenty enough poke for a hooligan bike, in looks and bark.
But being the middle child has its disadvantages. The RVE doesn’t come Ohlins suspension or forged rims like the Hypermotard 950 SP. A wise decision from Ducati to sit between the standard 950 and the 950 SP, keeping the cost down.

With the new graphics and upgraded riding aids, the 950RVE brings a new street style hooligan bike to the Hypermotard 950 family.
Unique wheels, just for the 950RVE
To emphasize the middle ground the 950RVE plays in the Motard family, Ducati has given the 950RVE some unique looking rims. (Unique to Ducati anyway, some say they were found in the KTM parts bin).
The two-tone wheels are certainly eye-catching and with the single-sided swing-arm, the view isn’t hindered.
These new wheels bring the Ducati Corse red colour, found on the 950SP and combine it with the standard 950’s black wheels. Adding extra visual flair to the 950RVE.

The Ducati Hypermotard 950RVE will be available from dealers at the end of July, retailing about £11,750.
